How self-employed income is assessed
A provider may review your Notice of Assessment, bank statements, CPF records where available, invoices, business registration or other evidence of recurring income. Requirements vary by bank and licensed lender.
Do not inflate income or submit altered documents. Accurate information gives the lender a better basis for assessing affordability and reduces problems later.
Compare the full cost
Self-employed borrowers may see different eligibility and pricing from salaried applicants. Compare EIR, processing fees, total repayment, tenure and early-settlement terms rather than choosing a loan based only on approval speed.
Plan for uneven months
Use a repayment amount that remains manageable during a slower business period. Keep business cash flow and personal borrowing separate where possible, and seek professional advice if existing debt is already difficult to service.
